This Bf 109 G-6
was flown by Oberfahnrich Elias Kuhlein, Staffelkapitan of 4, Staffel, JG. 51
This is Hasegawa's
Bf 109 kit which has been reboxed by Revell as the G-4. Gun bulges, wheels
and spinner were all updated. The canopy was further accessories with
Eagle Editions canopy accessories. The cockpit is stock with the addition
of a set of Eduard's pre painted Seat Belts. The kit was built per
instructions, the only thing is that the spinner, canopy, landing gear, and all
antennas have been left off due to shipping reasons. They will be glued in
place upon arrival.

Painting and decals:
The kit was painted by preshading the panel lines, followed by the three tone
camouflage of RLM 76/75/74 which was sprayed on freehanded. When the
camouflage was dry, I masked the tail and painted the rudder flat white.
Next I masked and painted the under cowl RLM 04 yellow. While I had
yellow in the paint cup, I also painted the gun bulges, but these would be left
off until the aircraft was completely painted.
With the camouflage completed, I
allowed the paint to dry overnight and then sprayed on the gloss coat which is
Johnson's Shine Magic. The glossiness allows the decals go on without
silvering. I used Eagle Cal sheet #34 Which include markings for 4
Bf109g-s of JG. 54 and JG 51.

The final steps in the finish was
the weathering which was a combination of a preshading, post shading,
panel lines enhanced with Citadel inks, fading of the panels, and simulated
chips done with a prisma silver pencil.
