Here is my Tempest,
modelled to represent R-B flown by Roland Beaumont, possibly one of the greatest
pilots of wartime and peacetime the world has ever seen. I have all his
books and was fortunate enough to have him sign some via a mutual friend in the
RAF. My dad worked at Hawkers during the war and well remembers him
beating up the airfield, sometimes flying between the hangers. The model
was the Profipack version so no extra stuff was bought. I thinned the fin
as it is a bit thick as supplied and scratchbuilt the flaps. Paint was
Humbrol enamels, decals from kit, oil washed and sealed with Humbrol flat
varnish. I was very please with this kit.
