Here
are two 1/48 scale Hasegawa Macchi C205s that I finished a few months ago. I was
inspired to build them after seeing a few articles on the C202 and C205 sent in
to
Aircraft
Resource
Center
. I decided to paint them
during the period that they served with the Fascists and the Co-belligerent
forces at the same time.

The
Hasegawa kit is excellent and went together with no major problems. I enjoy
building two or three of the same kit at the a time. The Macchi C202/C205 is
ideal to build in pairs because of the multitude of paint schemes (allied and
axis). The kits were finished with Gunze Sangyo paints and a Future gloss
overcoat.
A
light weathering was then brushed on and wiped off using Q-tips allowing the
color to remain in the recessed panel lines. The model was then given a
semi-gloss overcoat. Tamiya smoke was used for the exhaust discoloration.
Stretched sprue was used for the antenna and beads of white glue for the
insulators. Now I’m looking forward to the Pacific Coast Models 1/32 scale
C200/202/205 series.
