It took me some time to "discover" this Tamiya kit, but after building one I could not resist with the second. It is a trully magnificent kit for not such a high price namely, if you obtain it through Ebay. And, it is fairly easy to build out of the box like most Tamiya kits.

I lavished on the plethora of contributions in the net and concentrated on the application of the right camouflage pattern for the black under surface aircraft. The pattern is unique in as much as the lighter RLM 76 was applied over the dark RLM 74 and created a kind of a marble effect. I added a CMK resin engine to break the monotony of the over all appearance of the aircraft.

The second model received the characteristic random patch work of RLM 74 over RLM 76. Here, I concentrated on the detailing of various components using the outstanding Aires kit. It is perhaps the most expensive 1/48 kit I ever built, but was well worth the investment. The Aires parts fall well into their appropriate place and if I remember correctly, I had some trouble only with engine block installation and cockpit parts since I did not want to give up the nice Tamiya balance weight that also serves as the cockpit floor and side walls.
