Some more Hasegawa
1/48 tomcats. First the final cruise markings for VF-213 Black Lions. A
combination of Two Bobs decals, which have a better colour, and Hasegawa which
provide the nose slash as this tomcat had at the end of the cruise. The blue is
a combination of Model master true blue, cobalt blue and a tiny amount of white.
The intake cover is from steel beach. After burner covers are home made.

The next tomcat is a
repaint. Its using the second option provided in the Hasegawa VF-213 release.
All dark blue markings with a very dark blue anti-glare. After burner and intake
covers are homemade.
The next one is a VF-41 Black
Aces shoot down tomcat. Notice the Su-22 kill on the tail. These decals are a
combination of Superscale and Detail and scale decals. The detail and scale are
very VERY old (as in over 20). Found them in a hobby store in Hamilton last
year. They took a few weeks of sitting in a window to get the yellow out.
Surprisingly they went on the model just like new decals would. In the
background a couple of squadron mates from before and after the 1982 cruise.

Below you will see how most of
the tomcats are currently displayed. On the silver platter you can see some past
display models which are being sacrificed to the modeling (g)ods. These are 1/72
beasties that are no longer up to speed. Actually they all ready have a new
home. Mind you the anti submarine CS-104 on pontoons is still hanging around.
Have to dust that one off for silly week next year.
