Sensing a market never before
explored, AIrbus Industries developed the A-303, an inner/intra-city commuter
airliner. It was to be a bold new concept in mass transit. It first entered
service in 1996.

Unfortunately, the
A-303 had poor mileage, sluggish handling, poor parking ability, and a nasty
tendance to ingest small dogs, purses, garbage cans, baggage and the occasional
inatentive child in the #3 or #4 engine. It was withdrawn from service in 2002.
