Hello
ARCers, last year I finished my
J-10,
now I'm back again with another tiny jet, J-7G. As you know, the
Chinese J-7 family is based on the Soviet MiG-21, but with decades of time
researching and studying, PLAAF found ways to update hundreds
of their J-7s to maintain the quantity of air arms. The answer
is J-7E/G/M series developed by Chengdu fighter
factory. The new main wing is the most visible difference between
J-7E/G/M and original Fish bed, that enhance the maneuverability
great. New radar and electronic systems are also used by J-7E/G/Ms, PLAAF
and Pakistan AF are the main users to operate this "most advanced old
fashioned fighter" today. They said it is better than the F-20
Tiger shark and even the early F-16A, who knows...

I
built this J-7G based on Trumpeters 1/144 kit, as the photos shown, you
can call it horrible. I use much putty and card board to fill the gaps,
and sand the thick wings to make them relatively thinner. I filled up most of
the panel
lines on the wings and fuselage cos they are wrong, then I re-scribed the
model.
I
also add some details to it, such as a pilot and cockpit instruments, and
antennas around the fuselage, there is an in-flight refueling tube
equipped. The scheme is a "what if" version when the jet comes to the Tiger
Meet in 200X.
The number 1010
indicates my birthday date Oct 10th :)
Thanks for looking,
and happing modelling~ Small scale kits rule!
