I built this kit
from Hasegawa's very nice release of a couple of years ago. Motivation
came from Brian Marbrey's VF-Decals VFA-103 sheet with markings for
the squadron on it's first deployment on the USS Eisenhower. The aircraft
is depicted as it would be while flying in support of Operation Iraqi
Freedom and Enduring Freedom. I also used Darren Roberts ACS panel for the
rear cockpit as the squadron's aircraft are from a later production block
than that depicted by the kit. The Paveway II GBU-12's are from the
Hasegawa weapons set with ablative coating added and the GBU-38 500lb JDAM
is from Shull24.com, the loadout is listed in the decal instruction sheet.
The base is made from a card base white glued onto a memo cork board
and then sprayed with several coats of flat varnish.
