Tamiya Spitfire Mk.Vb trop finished with TuAF markings .
In
July 1944 39 Spitfire Mk.Vb were sent from RAF Mediterranean stocks. This was followed
by 71 Spitfire Mk.Vc’s and 3 recconnaissance version came in February 1945.
Mk.Vb’s were deployed at the 5th and 6th Regiments in TuAF. They were
replaced by the P-47 D30 Thunderbolts and Spitfire Mk9 in
1948.

The
construction started with the
painting of cockpit components to RAF interior green.
The
cockpit is modified with the following parts.

Cutting Edge GM2 gunsight
The
additional replacement parts are ;
The painting
was done mostly with Gunze Sangyo acrylics. On the upper surfaces I used
Gunze ‘s Dark earth and Middlestone. Underside is painted to “RAF
Azure blue” by using a mixing from Tamiya acrylics. The square national
insignias are from Turquoise decals as usual. Black Code numbers (5514)
are “home made” by my friend Özkan Türker. It s finished
after a matt coat from Gunze.
