51° Stormo – 22° Gruppo

This model is the classical F-104S Starfighter from Hasegawa in 1/48 scale.  I have added the Verlinden set that reproduces the cockpit, the avionic vain and provides with a thumb index you photo etched, while the dolly fireproof is totally auto building and the pilot comes from another kit.  Besides I have added the reservoirs haul in resins and all the removed before flight tags come from a photo etched sheet from CMK.  I started first of all with the cabin and the avionic vain, very easy by adapt to the fuselage, and with the replace the air inlet of the kit with the suitable "resin s" version.  For the rest of the assembly, there isn't much to say because the Hasegawa kit is exact and simple to assemble.

For the coloration I use colors Model-masters degree, and before beginning the mimic coloration, have applied to all the model a first hand of Flat Black to then pass to apply the Dark Sea Gray.  After having awaited the drying it has cleared the same color and applied above all in the dorsal parts of the fuselage, where the bad weathers and the sun did decay the tonality of the color.  A disguised time the all with the Tamiya ribbon, have applied the Dark Green and second-hand it same procedure.  Subsequently I have disguised entirely all the superior coloration, and have applied in the inferior part the Aluminium Metalizer, that after 15 min. to have polished.  Finished the phase of the painting has washed entirely all the model with of the simple temper, and subsequently removed with a damp cloth, this to do all the paneling in negative of the kit.  Fact this has applied two coats of shiny transparent varnish to use as basic for the application of the decals, the that originate in part from the Tauro and in part from the sheet dedicated to the F-104 of the Sky |models|.

Soften with the MR. Mark Softer of the Gunze, and leave to rest a whole day, I have applied again two coats of shiny transparent varnish to then cross again the various paneling with that opaque transparency, but in manner enough light.  A finished time the model of the airplane is past to auto building the dolly fireproof, using outline in plastics of the Evergreen and pieces advanced by other kit.  The end the result is liked me.  to the end I have built the list, enough simple but very delicate and have colored the pilot.

I hope that the final result pleasure to all you!!!
