Well, if you've ever had the urge
to break one of your vintage 1/32 Revell Eagles out of your stash, now's the
perfect time! Cutting Edge has released a corrected set of exhaust nozzles
for the 1/32 Revell F-15C and F-15E kits. These replacement parts correct
the less than stellar featherless exhausts that come in the Revell kits, and add
a great deal of detail to the Revell kits.
WHAT YOU GET:
Sixty-six parts cast in gray resin, including upper and lower nozzles and
separate actuators. My sample set was perfectly cast with no broken parts.
To this end, I should add that all of the smaller parts are very carefully
packed. In addition, you also get instructions on assembly. This is
a fairly straightforward kit to construct, so the instructions are brief and
concise as well. Despite the small castings, the parts are very sturdy,
although care must be taken when removing the actuators from the resin gates.
The larger parts are very sturdy. I like the resin formulation used by
Cutting Edge because it seems to be less brittle than other resins, and has more
of a 'plasticky' feel.
These nozzles will take the exterior detail of your Revell kit to a new level,
and are a major improvement over the kit parts. I'd like to thank Cutting
Edge Modelworks for providing me with this review sample.
Steve
