After a couple of great small decal sheets : Nakajima C6N1 Saiun (RD72-001 & RD48-001) and Ki-48-IIb Sokei/Lily (RD72-003) this new manufacturer from the Czech Republic is bringing us a real treat ! Decal set "Japanese ZOO" - Horses, Hawks & Cats captured by Japs. The 1/72 scale sheet sells under number RD72-002 and 1/48 scale under number RD48-002.

The 1/48 scale sheet offers options for 6 aircraft :

P-51C s/n 44-10816 "Evalina" flown by Lt. Strawbridge, captured in China, 1944 (sharkmouth).

F6F-5 - Yokosuka Kokutai, Akeno AB, Japan, August 1945

P-40E - Akeno Rikugun Hiko Gakko (Army Flying School Akeno), Yokota AB, Japan, August 1945

P-40D - Unit unknown, Mindanao, Philippines, 1942 (sharkmouth)

P-40E - Koku Gijutsu Kenkyujo (Air Technical Research Laboratory), Bandong, Java, late 1942

P-40E - 50th Hiko Sentai, 2nd Chutai, Rangoon, Burma, March 1943

The 1/72 scale sheet offers additional 4 P-40E marking options - that's total of 10!

P-40E - Unit unknown (probably Koku Gijutsu Kenkyujo-Air Technical Research Laboratory),Japan, 1943

P-40E - same unit as above, aircraft carries white fuselage band

P-40E - probably 25th Hiko Sentai, Location unknown, middle of 1943

P-40E - variation of 50th Hiko Sentai, 2nd Chutai, Rangoon, March 1943

Both sets include national insignias, beautifuly finely printed sharkmouths as well as unit symbols. Well printed in perfect register and bright colors.

This is a must for any "Pacific Theater" fans.

Because there is not a North American distributor (to my knowledge), you have to go to well known European distributor : www.Hannants.co.uk

Job well done ! Can't wait for future releases!

Thanks goes to Mirek Karnik for making these decals available to me for review !
