This new resin conversion set from Cutting Edge Modelworks includes conversion parts to make the 1/32 Trumpeter P-40B into a Hawk 75  "short Nose" versions with the R-1820 Cyclone engine.  This set is HUUUGE!!!  With piles of parts.

This set will require the use of your X-Acto knife with a fresh blade.  You will be required to do some surgery to the kit fuselage before you can complete the conversion.  You'll need to cut off the forward half of the fuselage and add the parts from this conversion set to build your Short Nosed Hawk 75 model.  Scoring back and forth with a fresh blade is the answer.....a fresh blade makes things go very quick.

Also included in this set is a clear resin windscreen and clear resin side windows.  You also get a complete set of canopy masks.  You also get enough radial engine parts to detail inside the engine cowling and a injection molded prop as well.  The panel lines and surface detail is beautifully done and although the very close photo in this review might show a rough surface on some parts....that is more an effect of the photos and all the parts look and feel quite smooth in finish.  You also get a complete centre section for the lower wing.

Resin casting is of a very high quality and all detail is very well done.  The delicate parts and packaged in foam protectors to keep them from getting broken.  It's good to see this conversion set from Cutting Edge Modelworks to permit modellers to build the Hawk 75 and  is sure to interest modellers with a passion and interest in building a big Hawk 75.

Other sets also available from Cutting Edge Modelworks include their highly detailed P-40B cockpit set (CEC32137 or CEC32145) which is very close to the Hawk 75 cockpit.

I would like to thank Cutting Edge Modelworks for providing me with this review sample.
