Here's a review of a
decal sheet
from
Twobobs. This sheet features two scales (1/48
and 1/32) of this commorative jet that marks the final reunion of the
352nd Fighter Group. This "Cripes A' Mighty" Viper
in in the paint scheme of the famous World War 2 Ace Maj. George Preddy. Maj. George Preddy had a total of 26.83 confirmed kills
and died Christmas Day 1944 while chasing a Fw-190 at tree top level for
his third kill of the day. Sadly he was hit by friendly
fire. The 149th Fighter Squadron of the 192nd Fighter Wing of the
VA ANG owes it lineage to the fine airmen of the "Bluenosed
Bastards of Bodney".
This sheet was originally
released in 1/48 scale and this new sheet includes 1/48 and 1/32 scale.
This aircraft has the
strange engine/intake combination of a small mouth intake paired with a
GE motor.

This is a very special scheme
that pays respect and honours one of the most famous fighter pilots of one
of the top American fighter groups from WW2.
The 2 pages of
instructions include 4 views of this aircraft as well as 8 color
photos of the real aircraft and 1 photo of the original P-51 that
inspried this anniversary scheme. Paint codes in FS#'s and
Testors, Humbrol, Gunze Sangyo and Xtracrylics is also included on
the instruction sheet. The blue
nose and blue tail is painted on this model.
The perfectly
printed decals are contained on 2 decal sheets. Some decals
come in 2 layers to ensure perfect registration and even white
decals to go under some decals to maintain the rich colors of the
top decal. You also get 1 complete set of stencils for each
scale.
There is no doubt
about it....this is a sharp looking scheme with deep history and
it will sell out, so buy it while you can.
I would like to thank
Twobobs
for this
product
sample.
This sheet is available through
the Twobobs
website and select US Hobby Shops. Overseas customers can purchase these from
Twobobs site or through Twobobs network of overseas distributors.
