1/32 A-7 Corsair II Correction kit

Product Article by Steve Bamford on Jan 22 2007

This new resin correction set from Zactomodels corrects the shape of the canopy, nosecone and intake.  The kit includes a vacuum formed canopy, 6 parts cast in beige resin and photo-etch mirrors and handles.  The big problem with the kit intake is it should be much rounder instead of the flat oval shape it is.  If you look at the photo below you can see the difference.

Now as we know.....kit parts usually lack the detail serious modelers crave and Zactomodels has stepped in to help you in a big way.  Their 2 piece resin canopy is beautifully thin and detail rich.........to be honest I wouldn't have believed it was possible to cast resin this thin and delicate.....I'm talking thin and delicate in a  beautiful way.  Check out the detail on the underside of the resin canopy in the photos above.  You also get photo etch mirrors and handles for the inside of the canopy.

And speaking of the canopy.....this vacuformed canopy is flawlessly executed.  The flat front windscreen is flat....very flat, but what really got me about the canopy is the rivet detail on the outside of the canopy frame......this vacuformed canopy has set new standards for others manufacturers to attempt to follow.

below is a photo of 3 of the original kit parts posed with the 3 detail rich resin parts from this set.  Resin casting is of a very high quality and all the detail is very well done with no air bubbles.  There's 2 pages of instructions and they are straight forward and easy to follow.

This new resin set from Zactomodels will permit modelers building the 1/32 A-7 Corsair to add correct detail to those critical areas where the kit parts come up short in accuracy and detail.

Drop by Zactomodels website and check out their 1/32 A-7 resin seamless intake set.......if you're building the 1/32 A-7, I would suggest you also get their seamless intake as well.

I'd like to thank Zactomodels for this review sample.
