This new decal sheet includes marking options for up to three aircraft with enough data stencils for one complete jet from VMA-513. Marine Attack Squadron 513 (also known as the "Flying Nightmares") was first commissioned as VMF-513 on February 15, 1944 at Marine Corps Auxiliary Field Oak Grove, North Carolina, flying the Grumman F6F Hellcat. This squadron has fought in WW2, The Korean War, The Vietnam War, The Gulf War and the current Global War on Terror.  They have flown a variety of aircraft from Hellcats to Phantoms and they currently fly the AV-8B Harrier II Plus.

These markings on this sheet are for the new gunship gray scheme that the USMC are now painting all of their Harriers.  Both the Night Attack and the Harrier II Plus variants of the aircraft are represented on this sheet.

The aircraft are the following:

  • AV-8B Harrier II Plus, Bu No 165006 VMA-513 MCAS Yuma in April of 2010.  This specially aircraft is has a blue tail with a yellow lightning bolt on the tail.

  • AV-8B Night Attack Harrier, Bu No 164142 VMA-513 MCAS Yuma in April of 2010.

  • AV-8B Harrier II Plus, Bu No 165419 VMA-513 MCAS Yuma in April of 2010.

I have always had a fascination with the USMC Harrier from the moment I saw one perform at an air show about 20 years ago.  This sheet captures 3 quite different Harriers with VMA-513 "Flying Nightmares" so the big question is which one of these great looking Harrier's are you going to build?  Well done to Twobobs for making this sheet a reality.

This sheet is available through http://www.twobobs.net/ and select US Hobby Shops.  Overseas customers can purchase these from Twobobs site or through Twobobs network of overseas distributors.
