This engine set gives you all you need to add full engine detailing to your tiny 1/72 Spitfire. This set is the full meal deal and includes a multi-part resin engine with all the auxiliaries. You also get a full set of engine cowlings and a chose of 2 different styles of exhausts. You will need to remove the engine cowlings on the kit parts and the resin cowlings will be used for diorama display purposes. A full resin frame in included to mount and support the resin engine and photo etch framing is included for the engine cowling mounting points. You do have the option to display the engine under maintenance with the prop removed as there is the resin prop shaft protruding from the front of the engine. There is also resin plumbing as well as wire that will be used for adding the intricate plumbing to this complicated V-12 Roll Royce engine. The engine cowlings have recessed detailing for the rivets and panel lines which is beautifully done. There are 6 pages of instruction in the usual line drawing format that Eduard is famous for and which are so easy to follow. The instructions also include painting instructions. You will be required to fold the photoetch in this set, but if you have one of the Hold & Fold photo etch benders from The Small Shop, then this will be an easy process. They have a variety of benders for sharp corners as well as rounded corners and in many different sizes. This is quite the involved engine set and will reward you with a mind boggling level of fine detail on your Spitfire Mk. IX. The Spitfire Mk.
