Monday,  May 31  2004             USA Memorial Day   

Mark Davies is here from New Zealand with his 1/72 Special Hobby  Goodyear F2G-2 Super Corsair.  Mark details his build including his custom built engine.  Mark's F2G-2 includes exhaust stains on the fuselage and other details. 


Jaroslav Hajecek is here with his 1/48 Revell F-15E Strike Eagle.   This is a first class model complete with a weapons load and RBF tags to honour Memorial Day in the US.


Franck Martin is here with his first article on ARC.  This is Franck's 1/48 Fonderie Miniature Bréguet 693 AB².  Franck includes some history about this aircraft as well as some excellent history about the building of his model.  Franck did a very fine job on his  Bréguet 693 AB².  Welcome to ARC!!!


Armin Knes is here with his "what if " 1/48 MiG-37 M2.  Ahhhh.....I must confess I enjoy the creative side of these "What if" models.  Nice one Armin.


I have a preview of the new 1/72 F-111A SEA Combat Lancers decal sheet from Two Bobs Aviation Graphics./  This decal sheet features 3 different South East Asia F-111's.


I have a review of the new 1/48 F-4E/F/G/EJ Seamless intakes from Cutting Edge Modelworks.  These are very well done and will greatly improve the very poor intakes on the 1/48 Hasegawa kit.

Spencer “Warthog” West is here with his first article on ARC.  This is part one of his 1/35 Trumpeter Mil Mi-24V Hind-E article.  Spencer is superdetailing this kit so expect more updates on this model as he progresses.  This is going to be sweet when it done Spencer.....Welcome to ARC.


Ömer Erkmen is here from Turkey with his first article on ARC.  This is Ömer's 1/72 Hasegawa F-16A finished off in Pakistani markings and very well done weathering.  It is a treat to see this excellently done Viper in non-US markings.  Welcome to ARC Ömer.  


Leon Storla is here with his first article on ARC.  This is Leon's 1/48 Tamiya F4F Wildcat which he detailed the cockpit.....darkened the panel lines and finished it off with a diorama base.  Inspiring work Leon....welcome to ARC.


Jorge Bonilla Alvarado has dropped by today with a few photos of his 1/48 Revell MiG-25.  This is a well done clean build with subtle weathering and a weapons load.   


I have a preview of the new 1/72 F/A-18A/C/D OEF/OIF Marine Hornets decal sheet from Two Bobs Aviation Graphics This sheet features 3 F-18's....one of which has some Stars and Stripes markings.


I have a review of the new 1/48 F-4J/S/RF-4 Seamless intakes from Cutting Edge Modelworks.  These are very well done and will greatly improve the very poor intakes on the 1/48 Hasegawa kit.


After nearly two years out of print, Dana Bell's Aviation Color Primer #1, US Export Colors of WW II, has been reprinted and is available exclusively from Meteor Productions for $10.99. This monograph was first released in very limited quantities at the IPMS-USA national convention in 2002, and has been unavailable since shortly thereafter. It covers the colors and camouflage patterns used on American aircraft exported to the Allies during WW II.   It's available again in a very limited printing, and as usual, first come, first served.  Product # is DBACP001A   This is a MUST have for all serious modelers.

Craig Sargent kicks things off today with his 1/72 Hasegawa F-16A Netz (Block 10).  This is one of the Israeli Peace Marble IV F-16's.  Craig had to do modifications to make his kit accurate for this particular F-16.   His efforts resulted in a first class IDF F-16 model.


Robert-Jan Willekens has dropped by today with his 1/48 Airfix Spitfire Mk.Vb (trop).  Robert's Spitfire is a fine tribute to the Tropical Spitfires that served during WW2.  


Karl W Branson has finished his big 1/48 Revell B-58 HustlerKarl did a bare metal finish on his B-58 and although he had some reservations about doing the BMF, it did come out looking very well done in the end.


Darius Aibara is here with his 1/48 Minicraft F4U-5N Corsair.  This is a night fighting Corsair from the Korean war.......another beauty from Darius.

I have a review of the new 1/48 resin ALQ-164 Ecm Pod from AMRAAM Line.  These pods were used by the Harrier, but this pod is not included in the new Hasegawa Harrier kit.

Dmitriy Shapiro begins today's update with his 1/144 Minicraft L-188 Electra.  Dmitriy finished his Electra in markings for the L.A. Dodgers and includes some very good background info in his article.  Lovely looking Electra Dmitriy. 


Polly Singh is here with another Indian Air Force jet.  This is his 1/72 Hasegawa MiG 25 Foxbat A that he converted to Indian Air Force MiG 25 ‘RB’.  Very nice indeed. 


George Ting has dropped by with his very impressive 1/72 Airfix Short Sunderland III.  This has got to be a big model....even for 1/72.  It's not often you get to see someone's Sunderland....so this is a special model.  It came out looking quite good.  


Mario Catania is here with his first article on ARC.  This is Mario's 1/32 Tamiya F-14 Tomcat, which he weathered perfectly to look like a USN jet.  Well done Mario....welcome to ARC. 


I have a review of the new 1/24 Spitfire Mk.V Rotol Prop and spinner from Cutting Edge ModelworksThis is sure to be a help to folks building the 1/24 Spitfire from Trumpeter.

David Fredericks is first up today with his very colourful 1/72 Hobbycraft Caribou in unique RAAF Colours.  Dave has also included pics of the 1/1 plane in his article.  Very cool paint scheme Dave!!


Marcelo Ribeiro is here today with his 1/72 Heller Mirage IIIEA.  This Mirage is in Argentine markings....which fits with today's update.  Marcelo has a definite talent for modelling. 


Edward Lowdell has built the big 1/24 Trumpeter Supermarine Spitfire Vb.  This huge Spit comes with lots of detail potential and Edward has had plenty of fun detailing his.....check out the engine. 


I have a preview of the new 1/48 AV-8B NA/Super OIF Harriers decal sheet from Two Bobs Aviation Graphics.  These are Harriers with nose art and missions markings.


Monday,  May 24  2004            Eritrea Independence Day  

Kelly Quirk kicks off your week with his impeccably build and detailed 1/48 Italeri US Coast Guard HH-60J "Jayhawk".  Kelly had to cut up his kit and add a resin set from Cobra Company to get his Jayhawk....but the end results were worth it. 


Iván Peña Nesbit is here from Venezuela with his 1/48 Academy T-33 which he finished in FAM (Mexican Air Force) markings.  A very well done model of this famous jet.  Everyone will enjoy this one.....especially the ARC regulars from Mexico.


Marcius Cesar Costa is here from Brizil with his 1/72 GIIC Models EMB 121 Xingu.  This is a VIP transport used by the Brazilian Air Force.  It's always good to see these Brazilain aircraft on ARC. 


To honour Eritrea's Independence Day, I have a review of the new 1/72 and 1/48SU-27 S / SK / UB Flanker B/C decal sheet from Hi-Decal Line.  The camo schemes and markings on this sheet are varied and fantastic.  This sheet features aircraft from Eritrea, Angola, Ethiopia and Indonesia.

Dennis Weber begins today's update with his 1/48 Hasegawa Bf-109 G14 in Croatian markings.  Dennis's article goes into some very good detail about building his 109.  Nice to see a 109 in non-Luftwaffe markings for a bit a of variety. 


Edwin M. is here with his 1/72 Hasegawa S-3A Viking.  Edwin did a very pleasing job on his Viking.  Good to see it turned out so well.  


Emad F.Tabsh  is here today with an Inbox Preview of the new 1/32 Azur Dewoitine D.520 C-1.  Thanks Emad. 


Ted Taylor has a review of the new 1/72 Handley Page Victors decal sheet from Euro Decals.  Markings include Operation Granby (Desert Storm).

Kairasp Daruwala joins us today with the 1/72 "Airfix" Harrier T-10 2 seater.  This is a nicely done model that is a treat to see.


Mark Davies has dropped by today with his 1/72 Azur Breguet Br 27.  A very nice little multi-media kit that builds up easily.  Read Marks article for more details about his very well done little model.    


Emad F.Tabsh is here with a book review of the new "Uncovering The F/A-18 A/B/C/D Hornet" from Daco.  This book is packed with photos and other info.  Thanks Emad.

H.Ufuk Aydiner begins your update today with his 1/48 Revell-Monogram Fw-190D11.  H.Ufuk has been busy building these JV-44 Dora's with the red and white bottoms.  This latest one of his is up to his usual beautiful standards.


Charles Kalina is back from Iraq.  but before he left he photoed his 1/72 KP and Toga MiG-21s which are in Iraqi markings.  Yes....the background in his photo is Iraq. 


Héctor Alonso is here with his 1/48 Accurate Miniatures IL-2.  Hector has a talent of weathering and you'll have to have a close look at the photos in his article.  Very nice indeed.  


Luis Fernando Salazar G. is here for the first time.  Luis lives in Bolivia and he has dropped by with his 1/48 Revell F-5E Tiger II.  He added some nice detail to his F-5 including Remove-before-flight tags to his model.  Well done Luis.  Welcome to ARC!!!  


Konley Kelley is here with digital artwork of his 1/48 Tamiya Swordfish.  Konley calls this artwork Sink The BismarkThis is definately an very exciting way to photo a model.

Robert-Jan Willekens is here with his 1/48 Otaki/Arii Nakajima Ki-43 HayabusaThis is a classic example of an older kit being built to a high standard. 


Sergei Galicky is here from Russia with his 1/48 Italeri F/A-18FSergei heavily reworked most areas of this Italeri kit to improve the detail level.  The end result is quite pleasing to see. 


Radim Schimmer is here from the Czech Republic with his 1/72 Smer (Heller reboxing) Dewoitine D-520.  I enjoyed seeing the paint scheme on this D-520....a nice change and quite the involved camo scheme.


Marcelo Ribeiro is here with a very helpful Tools 'n' Tips article called Easy Mask Cutters.  This article has an excellent technique for masking wavy camo lines.

Craig Sargent begins your update today with his 1/72 Hasegawa F-104S Starfighter.  Craig finshed his Starfighter in the special anniversary Reparto Sperimantale Volo paint scheme.  Very nice Craig.


Ted Taylor is here with a very attractive 1/48 AMtech Henschel HS-123A.  Ted finished his Hs-123 in markings for an Eastern Front scheme from 1942.  A beautifully done example of this Luftwaffe Bi-plane.


Edison Franco joins us with his jet diorama of his 1/48 Kfir TC-7 and Kfir C-7.  Edison finished his jet in markings for Fuerza Aérea Colombiana FAC

Today's update is mostly devoted to Norway.


Terje Opsahl (and IPMS Norway) is here to begin this special update with his article about Norway's Aircraft.  This article features beautifully done models by Tor Gressberg, Tormod Sørvang, Nils Mathisrud, Terje Opsahl.  Nice one!!!


Jens H. Brandal is here on ARC for the first time.  this is Jens's 1/72 Revell F-16AM  in Norwegian markings of course.   The quality of the finishing o this one is very well done.  Welcome to ARC Jens.


Espen Eriksen is here with his 1/48 Hasegawa Spitfire Mk.IXe in RNoAF to honour this special day devoted to Norway.  It's always good to see a well done Spitfire.  Welcome to ARC Espen!!!

Keith Money is here for the first time today.  Keith has Gone to town detailing his 1/32 Revell F-14A Tomcat.  Keith scratchbuilt detail and added aftermarket detail to get his super detailed F-14.  He then made his own decals.  Quite nice.  Welcome to ARC Keith!!! 


Arie (Lion) Cohen is here with his first article on ARC today.  This is Arie's 1/48 Revell Ju-52 done up as an airliner.  It's good to see this version of the Ju-52.  Welcome to ARC Arie!!!  


Simon Wallis has dropped by with his 1/48 Hasegawa F-104C Starfighter.  Simon finished his F-104 in a bare metal finish and then painted various panels in different shades of metal to improve the look of his bare metal finish.  The effect is very satisfying to see.  


Hal Marshman, Sr. has dropped by with a figure today.  Now I know ARC is an aircraft site.....but we'll make an exception for Hal.  This is his 1/16 Tamiya German machine gunner which Hal went to great lengths to shade his figure to give it that cold and tired look.

Michal Sekula has built the 1/48 Special Hobby X-15.  This particular aircraft is the speed record breaking version X-15A-2.  It is quite impressive that Michal finished this kit.....but to have it look so well is very impressive.  


George Rosa is here with his 1/48 Monogram AV-8B Harrier II.  George added a resin cockpit and other aftermarket goodies to his Harrier.  Then he used Twobobs decals and weathered his Harrier.  A very nice example of this older kit.

Fabien Arnaud begins today with his 1/48 Tamiya Dewoitine D520 This is another of Fabien's beautifully weathered and detailed models. 


Stefan Szymanski is here with his 1/48 Revell Rafale M.  Stefan has done a wonderful job detailing and finishing his Rafale and then he added a display base and figures.  Very nice. 


Arne Goethe has dropped by today with his 1/72 Trumpeter North American F-107A "Ultra Sabre". Arne has provided some excellent background about this aircraft as well as some first class photos of his F-107. 


Graham Tarran is here with his 1/72  Czechmaster Resin Westland Wyvern.  Graham's very informative article tells about the 1/1 aircraft as well as the building process for his lovely Wyvern.  A treat to see and read.

Jim Barnett kicks off today's update with his 1/48 Hasegawa IDF F-4EJim used a resin cockpit, resin wheels and RBF tags to improve his F-4.  This is one of the more attractive F-4 camo schemes you can pick.  Nice one Jim.


Mark Davies is here from the first time.  This is his article about the 1/72 Airfix Savoia Marchetti SM 79 Spaverio.  I was quite impressed when I saw how involved the paint scheme was on this one.  Mark has provided some history on the SM79.  Welcome to ARC Mark.

Robert-Jan Willekens begins your update with his 1/48 Academy Spitfire FR Mk XIVe.  This Spitfire is nicely weathered and detailed and finished in the markings for South East Asia command at the end of WW2. 


Mike Pister joins us today with his second article on ARC.  This is Mike's 1/48 Hasegawa NF-14D VANDY 1 (VX-9).  These black Bunny F-14's are cool looking Tomcats.....well done Mike. 


H.Ufuk Aydiner is here with his 1/48 Hasegawa Me 109 G6.  Very nicely done as usual H.Ufuk. 


Raphael Jumentier has been kind enough to send in photos from the recent 2004 Paris Model Show.  There is also a nice selection of Armour photos included.....for you Armour builders.

Jeff Stoermer begins today's update with his bright and well weathered 1/48 Monogram QF-100D Super Sabre.  Very fascinating to see a drone of the F-100.  Jeff did this project justice. 


Darius Aibara is here with his 1/48 Dynavector Westland Wyvern S4 Another beautiful model from Darius....and if you read his article you'll learn about the first successful underwater use of an ejection seat.


Andrew Holloway (kaysersoze) has dropped by the ARC Corporate offices with his 1/48 Hasegawa Hayate, 'Frank'.  This one is very appealing due to the way Andrew made use of the see through fuselage.  Talk about interior detail!!!  


Osvaldo Viggiani has sent in some new photos of his 1/32 Hasegawa D-9 that he converted into a D-13 that was recently featured on ARC.  Excellent looking groundwork.

I have a review of the new 1/144 Sputnik and R-7 Booster Resin model kit from Cutting Edge Modelworks This is part of thier Lift Off Series and gives you  a chance to build the rocket that launched Sputnik and got the nuclear arms race of the Cold War off to a scary start. 


I have a review of the new 1/48 resin Paveway II LGBs from AMRAAM Line.  You get 2 Paveways and they come with the rough Ablative Cover on the centre section of the bomb.

Mark Kubes is here with his first model article on ARC today.  This Mark's 1/48 Monogram F-14A which he finished in the rare and eye catching "Ferris" Scheme.  This is Mark's second model since re-entering the Hobby and I like his style.  Welcome to ARC Mark. 


Polly Singh is here with his article he calls Last Samurai .  It features his 1/48 Tamiya J2M3 Raiden (Jack) all weathered with chipped paint  to simulate the WW2 Japanese aircraft.  


Jan Mikes has been very busy on his excellent 1/48 Academy Mikoyan Ye-8 "Super Fishbed"This is a conversion starting with the Academy MiG-21PF to create this Russian X-Plane.  Jan has given his Ye-8 the usual skillful attention to detail.


Jason Liang is here with his first article on ARC today.  this si Jason's 1/72 Academy Fw-190A8.  This is Jason's first paint scheme with an airbrush and to attempt a Luftwaffe scheme is quite the goal.  It came out very well.....nice weathering.  Welcome to ARC Jason.

Dave Poff is back with another of his 1/72 beauties.  This is Dave's 1/72 Italeri A-10 Warthog with skillfully done panel line shading and weathering.  Dave's A-10 also includes a full weapons load.  Well done Dave.

Saturday,  May 8  2004                V.E. Day         Victory in Europe (1945) 

Simon Wallis is here with his 1/48 Tamiya F4U-1D Corsair.  Simon weathered his Corsair and added details to the cockpit to further enhance this lovely kit.  This is a very fine example of the famous Corsair.


Masa Narita is here with his first article on ARC.  He did a fantastic job on his big 1/32 Tamiya F-14D Tomcat carrier deck diorama.  Masa's F-14 is beautifully weathered and detailed and his diorama is equally stunning.  Masa finished his F-14 in VF-213 Black Lions markings.  Welcome to ARC!


Thang Le has finished building another of his stunning models from a somewhat older Monogram kit.  This is Thang's 1/48 Monogram P-47 complete with weathering and a weapons load.

I'm currently sick with an head cold, so forgive me if the updates are a bit smaller than normal.


Stefan Szymanski starts your update with his 1/48 Revell "Hokum".  Stefan finished his Hokum in an attractive camo scheme and added a figure.  Always good to see another chopper on ARC. 


Fabien Arnaud is here with one of my favourite Luftwaffe aircraft from WW2.  This is his 1/48 Dragon Messerschmitt Me262 A-1a and Fabien decided to show the engine with it's cowling removed.  Very nice. 


Bob Aikens is here with his very well done and attractive 1/48 Tamiya P-51B Mustang.  Bob did a pile of stuff to this one including varied panel colours, weathering and cockpit detailing.  Always a treat to see Bobs work.

Christian Muschitiello is here with his first article on ARC.  this is Christian's 1/48 Hobbycraft Hurricane Mk IIC done up as a Malta hurricane.  Christian chipped the paint and added weathering such as exhaust stains to give his Hurricane a very realistic look.  Welcome to ARC Christian. 


Armin Knes is here with 2 of his Soviet jet models.  These are his 1/48 Hobbycraft MiG-23S & ESCI MiG-27 and both with full weapons loads.  Very nice indeed.


Cyril Worley is here from Malta with his first article on ARC.  This is his  1/48 Tamiya Beaufighter Mk I diorama and Cyril really did a stunning job on adding detail to his beaufighter an then creating a fantastic base to sit his beaufighter on.  Welcome to ARC Cyril.

Robert-Jan Willekens is here with his 1/48 Arii/Otaki Seafire Mk.III.  Robert did some kit bashing to get a Seafire out of the Arii/Otaki kit. This is actually a pretty good kit all things considered.

Tolga Ulgur is here to blow your socks off with his 1/32 Hasegawa Fw 190 D-9.  Even if you're not into prop aircraft....check this one out.....the underside detail for the main landing gear wells is impeccable. 


Carl McGehee has sent in 63 photos of the Airbus A380 first fuselage section.  These were forwarded to Carl and he figure the airline modellers would get a kick out of seeing them.


I have a review of the new 1/48 Me 163 B Komet decal sheet from Cutting Edge ModelworksThis sheet features seven different Me-163's including a 2 seater in Soviet markings.


I have a review of the new 1/24 P-51D Tuskegee Airman decal sheet from AMtech.  This decal sheet features 2 Red tailed P-51's both with nudie nose art.  The Tuskegee Airman is a very special story and I tell about their story in my review.

Jeff Stoermer is here with more proof his on  a MiG-29 quest.  Today Jeff treats to a selection of his Indian Air force 1/72 Hasegawa MiG-29 Fulcrum.  This particular model is in a very attractive bright paint scheme.
