aftermarket decals. I love the markings with the stripes.

level of detail including aftermarket items in the cockpit and added
weapons and pitot tubes etc. All this was given a skillful and
accurate looking weathering job and finished in the famous Jolly

attractive 1/72 Azur Vautour IIB. It is wearing Israel
camo with aftermarket decals and just a gentle amount of weathering
to help show off the panel lines. I love the look of the
Israeli camo on this Vautour IIB.

Dragan Cvetic
has been working on his 1/48
Academy MiG-29 9.12 for quite a while. He added plenty of
aftermarket detailing as well as his own high quality scratchbuilt
detailing as well as rivet detailing. The final touch was a
flawless slightly faded camo job along with just a hint of
weathering and Yugoslav markings. This is one sweet looking
MiG...well done Dragan.

|
|
|
Gerd
Wilcken has created a very interesting diorama with his 1/72
Hobby Boss DO 335 Pfeil. Gerd improved the cockpit and
then gave it a late war camo with slight weathering. The
diorama features an American jeep with 2 American pilots meeting 2
Luftwaffe pilots, which is quite the cool end of war scene. I
always enjoy seeing Gerd's work on ARC and this one is a treat to
see

Paolo Yuen
begins today with his exceptional 1/72
Hasegawa Su-33. Paolo added a resin cockpit and exhaust
and nose cone to improve the detail and accuracy of his

dropped flaps before finishing his jet in Russian markings with a
stunning camo scheme with just the perfect amount of weathering.

Bob Leonard
is here with a unique looking design. This is his
1/72 Amodel P.180 Avanti,
which is a twin engined pusher aircraft in Italian Coast Guard
markings. Bob found this to be a limited run kit needing a bit
of love to complete it into the lovely model in Bob's photos.
The red and white Servizio Aereo della Guardia Costiera paint scheme
works very well with this unique looking aircraft. I love the
look of it.

Straker65
has done an outstanding
job detailing and weathering his 1/72 Revell MiG-21 F-13.

very high level. Then it was finished with the perfect amount
of weathering.

had quite the busy time closing up all the doors on his
impressive

model. He darkened the panel lines to add further detail with
very good results.

Oxiel
Carrizo has put quite a bit of effort into improving the detail
on his

accurate and detail rich. I love the in-flight photos of
it.
|
|
|
|
|
Kees Kuyper
has created a very cool looking

Ryan Gay
joins us from Switzerland with his 3rd model on ARC. This is
his
1/24 Revell 1968 VW Käfer finished as a dirty daily driver

Very nicely done Ryan.

Welcome to Silly Week
2018!!! This is an ARC tradition to begin the New Year on
a lighter note to help set the tone for a "Happy" New Year
and to assist some people that might be falling into post holiday
depression. Pretty well anything goes except serious aircraft
models during Silly Week.....so what-if and car and armour and
motorbikes and figure etc are what you will see. Enjoy and
keep smiling!!!

Dave 'The Rat' Bailey
is an old time regular on the ARC Silly Week each January and
I'm proud and excited to see him back here in 2018. This is
his North
American T-6 Weta divebomber...think "baby dauntless"
flown by Kiwi's and you are on the right track. Read Dave's
full story for the details
|
|
|
|
|
Bill Arnold
is another regular to Silly Week. He has a passion for egg
planes and other such models. This is his Meng Tiger 1
in true Egg style. Bill shaded it and built it to the exacting
standards you would expect on a model rich in accuracy and
detail...and I admire that about Bill. Click the link at the
bottom of his article to see all of his models on ARC...you will not
be disappointed.

Kees Kuyper has
done some crazy kit bashing with his Douglas
DC-3 and a half Superdakota. Look carefully and you will
see a bit of Fw 200 in this model along with a Dc-3 with a nose
wheel and plenty of wonderful wild ideas. Oddly enough...this
reminds me of a Connie.
