 Dominican Republic Independence Day

Juan Carlos Porcella, Manuel Santana, Alberto Robledo Oquet, Jose Miguel Paliza and members of Asociacion Dominicana de Modelismo a Escala are here with a selection of Dominican Republic's Airforce models.

Hoa Long gets things started today with a amazingly realistic 1/72 Italeri VNAF CH-47A Chinook.  Have a close look at this one.......it looks like the real aircraft in the later days of the Vietnam war.

Sergei Galicky is here with his excellent looking Vietnam era 1/48 Italeri F-4E Phantom II.  Sergei gave his Phantom a full weapons load plus all the small details that set a model apart from the rest.  The paint job and weathering is exactly what I would expect from a real F-4 in Vietnam.

Michael Ezat is here from sunny Greece with his sharp looking 1/32 J. Rutman's Ta-152H.  Michael masked and painted all the markings on this rare Luftwaffe fighter and the finished model looks fantastic.

Busolini Massimo dropped by the ARC Corporate office in Italy with his 1/48 Hasegawa TF-104G Starfighter.  Busolini used a very simple but effective technique for painting his Royal Danish Air Force Starfighter.  The finished model looks fantastic and his painting technique is well worth reading about in his article.

 Kuwait Liberation Day

The Ultimate paint Conversion Chart has had some upgrades this month, search is finally here. Along with another great feature – a filter on FS595.
  • 1. FS595 filter. When enabled, click in the header of the FS filter column and start typing what you’re looking for. For example, if you type 340 you’ll be shown all FS595 numbers that start with 340 (34077/34079/34082 etc) – the list will contract as you type. Very handy if you want to see what’s ‘close’ to what you’re looking for.
  • 2. Search. Enter anything in here to search the currently selected columns. Hence the reason for the ‘select all’ button – this allows you to search everything. The search is not case-sensitive. For example, searching for ‘Hemp’, ‘HEMP’, ‘hemp’, ‘hEmP’ will produce the same results.
  • 3. Don’t forget about column sorting. The default sort is on FS595 – simply click on the header of another column to sort on that one. If you hover over the column you’ll see the number 1 along with an arrow pointing up, click on it to reverse the sort order. For multi-column sorting simply hover over the ‘number’ area in the header of the column and you can click to create a secondary or tertiary sort etc.

Terry Chan has gone the extra mile super detailing his 1/48 Hasegawa F-104DJ.  Terry added a resin cockpit and open panels, wheel bays, exhausts and photo etch and finished it off in Japanese markings.  This model shows the great results you can get after piles of effort.

Alessandro Biagetti joins us from Florence, Italy with his beautifully done 1/32 Special Hobby Brewster Buffalo.  This is a limited production multi-media kit and Alessandro finished it in the markings for the Finnish Air Force as it served against Soviet forces.

George Athanasiades is the artistic designer of the artwork that appears on the 1/1 aircraft and this is his model of this aircraft using the 1/32 Tamiya HAF F-16C (Jason).  George added extra detail in some very special areas and gave his Hellenic Air Force a full weathering job.  Wow.....nicely done George.
